Seized Dogs
The woman who had 79 dogs taken from her property outside Winnipeg last week will not get them back, as she did not appeal the Manitoba government''s decision to seize the animals. Provincial animal control officers seized the bulldogs, Lhasa Apsos and other dogs from a shed on the woman''s property in West St. Paul, north of Winnipeg, on Jan. 24. The deadline for the dogs'' owner to appeal the seizure came and went on midnight Thursday with no appeal filed, according to the Winnipeg Humane Society, which is caring for most of the rescued animals. With no appeal filed, the dogs belong to the provincial government until they are officially turned over to the humane society and another Winnipeg shelter, D''Arcy''s A.R.C.
